The Coach

The Coach

Nicholas “Saij” Horton is a Certified USA Weightlifting Sports Performance Coach, and a Crossfit Certified Olympic Weightlifting Coach. He is dedicated to providing his Athletes with cutting edge Sports Performance training and making them the best Olympic Weightlifters they can be.

He has spend over 14 years “under the Barbell”. He studies incessantly, but
also believes that every coach should practice what they preach. He never will
give his athletes a routine or an exercise to do that he hasn’t first tried on
himself.

There are a lot of theories about what it takes to be big, fast, strong, and
athletic. But, they all boil down to hard work. He is no stranger to hard
work. And, you won’t be either!

In addition to being the founder and coach of PDX Weightlifting, he also runs
an unofficial campus rec club on the campus of Portland State University (PSU
Weightlifting), where he provides free group coaching times to students
interesting in the sport of Olympic Weightlifting.

  1. Hi Tom (Hirtz)! It’s been a long time. How have you been doing? Would love to hear from you–it appears you are directing this weightlifting club–any olympic prospects? Do you still have horses? I’m fine after a bumpy ride in life and am semi retired enjoying playing tennis and bridge and “smelling the roses”. Take care. Marion Rabinowe (Greilsheimer) (the former little girl who used to nag you to play baseball in your backyard).

  2. I really like your site it is full of a lot of useful stuff for weightlifters. I would love an opportunity to join your club.
